Which Keyword Research Tool is the best ?

Right, so which are the best keyword research tools in town ? Honestly, that is a tough nut to crack. It isn’t something which one could answer straight away but let’s take a shot.

First, let us understand what you mean by keyword research.
Everyday, you hop over to and type in some words in the search box expecting Google to show you relevant answers. Imagine, how many people across the globe are doing the same thing each second and minute.

Google, behind the scenes, captures all of this search data. Think for a moment how much of data it has with itself. The idea is to use that storehouse of data to return you the right answers or results when you search for anything, anytime.
Keyword research tools collect all of these data from several search engines, including Google and then tell you which is the best keyword to target for your website.  While the keyword they output is not 100% accurate, it is fairly acceptable. Paid tools can boast of providing more accurate data.
It is important to understand and invest time, if not money, into a tool as targeting the right  keywords for your website or blog can make a lot of difference between the number of visitors you may get over a period of time.

If you consistently target keywords for many articles, over a period of time, the number of visitors will increase dramatically. That is obviously good for your business as your products are seen by many prospects, some of whom will end up buying thereby generating revenue for you.
As you can see, the backbone of these tools is the repository of data that they maintain on all global searches people are making. The biggest challenge with such tools is that they need to maintain their data up-to date each day and each month. If they do not do that, then they are potentially showing you wrong data.

Which is the best Keyword Research Tool ?

Well, you will get a host of keyword research tools in the market today. Some of them range from 50$ to 100$ per month in cost. Is that huge or small for such an important analytical task that can end up driving a large number of visitors to your website ?

The truth of the matter is that most of the paid tools are only slightly better than the free ones. Sure, they cost money as they put in a lot of time and effort to get more accurate data, but the data from free tools isn’t bad either. In my mind, it does not make sense to invest in paid keyword research tools.

There does not exist a product which you can call the best – everyone’s requirement is different but most can be met with the free ones that are available. But yeah, if you have a large budget for online marketing and have a big team at your disposal to dig deep into keyword analysis, then by all means, buy a paid version to test how it works.
Your needs will drive your choice of the tool. If you are looking to make tons and tons of money from your online business, then you need to be very accurate with keywords. If you are blogging for fun’s sake and do not worry about whether the visitors are trickling in or not, then you can simply skip such tools.

Also, remember that the time you spend on doing the analysis can eventually become over bearing as well. There is a thin line you need to draw on investing time and effort towards keyword analysis via tools and the main focus of your business which is product selling.

Use the Google Adwords Keyword Planner and it should suffice.
